Moscow (GNP): Young leaders from different countries will gather in Moscow on September 18 for the plenary session of the II International Youth Forum “Generation of Unity”.
It will held under the theme “Values of the New World: The View of the Young Generation.” The session will form part of the Second World Public Assembly “New World: Values That Unite,” which will take place at the World Trade Center Moscow on September 18–19.
The upcoming session will focus on how the younger generation can contribute to international dialogue at a time of growing political polarization, international conflicts, information confrontation and rapid advances in artificial intelligence.
According to the programme, the forum will examine the challenges that young people are facing in an increasingly divided information environment.
The discussion will explore declining trust between societies, technological changes and offer the need to create stronger channels of communication between young people from different countries.
The session will highlight the growing role of youth diplomacy. Young people are increasingly involved in public and international affairs through education, civil society, digital platforms and international cooperation.
The forum will provide an opportunity for young leaders to exchange experiences and discuss practical ways to make the stronger mutual understanding and cooperation.
The programme will be conducted as a moderated international discussion rather than a series of lengthy speeches. Six young leaders will deliver short presentations of up to five minutes before taking part in a cross-discussion.
Questions from the audience will also be collected and presented to the moderators. At the conclusion, each speaker will identify one solution they are personally prepared to support through their own activities or organization.

Among the key questions expected to shape the discussion are why young people increasingly exist in separate information spaces, whether public diplomacy can maintain dialogue during international crises and how youth participation in decision-making can become more meaningful.
Artificial intelligence and digital information will also be an important part of the conversation. The session will consider the risks created by AI generated content, deepfakes and algorithmic information bubbles.
These technologies are increasingly influencing how people receive information and form opinions, making digital responsibility and media literacy that are the important issues for the younger generation.
Education, international mobility and joint projects will provide another major area of discussion. Participants will consider how student exchanges, cooperation programmes and shared initiatives can reduce alienation between societies and encourage greater understanding across national borders.
The session will be moderated by Juan Gonzalez, President of the Center for Dialogue and Multipolar Cooperation “Domus” and Chairman of the National Preparatory Committee of Colombia for the World Youth Festival, and Hu Bufang, Deputy Head of the Training Department of the Union of Chinese Students and Scholars at Lomonosov Moscow State University.
The scheduled speakers include young leaders and representatives from Morocco, India, Russia, Kyrgyzstan, China and Brazil, that all are reflecting the international character of the discussion.
The II International Youth Forum is expected to form an important youth focused component of the Second World Public Assembly.
The organizers have described this year’s youth programme as broader and more substantive, with opportunities for international networking, expert meetings, educational discussions, practical case studies and participation in youth initiatives.
The forum’s emphasis on youth participation reflects a wider effort to involve younger generations in discussions about international cooperation and the future global order.
