Islamabad (GNP): In a meeting held at the Prime Minister’s Office, the Prime Minister’s Youth Programme (PMYP) and Promoting National Cohesion (PNC) signed a Letter of Intent (LoI), witnessed by Chairman Prime Minister’s Youth Programme Rana Mashhood Ahmed Khan, to collaborate on youth development, sustainable initiatives, and national engagement under the Pakistan Green Mobility Mission (PGMM).
The meeting was attended by Misha Mazhar Chief Executive Officer (CEO) Promoting National Cohesion (PNC), along with members of PNC’s technical advisory group and Board, as well as Chairman Prime Minister’s Youth Programme Rana Mashhood Ahmed Khan and his team.
The collaboration reflects a shared commitment to empowering youth and promoting sustainable development, climate awareness, innovation, and national cohesion across Pakistan.
Under the Pakistan Green Mobility Mission (PGMM), both sides aim to support dialogue, partnerships, innovation, and public engagement to accelerate Pakistan’s transition towards sustainable and green mobility.
It was also decided that the Green Mobility Conference and EV Expo will serve as the inaugural flagship event under PGMM and will be held in Islamabad. The initiative will bring together policymakers, industry leaders, academia, development partners, youth, and innovators to encourage dialogue, partnerships, and innovation in the green mobility sector.

The collaboration will also focus on engaging youth through platforms including the National Youth Council (NYC), National Volunteer Corps (NVC), and Green Youth Movement Clubs. Both parties expressed their commitment to creating opportunities for youth leadership, innovation, entrepreneurship, volunteerism, and climate action.
Speaking on the occasion, representatives from PMYP and PNC emphasized the importance of empowering young people to contribute towards a sustainable, inclusive, and economically resilient Pakistan.
This collaboration establishes a framework for continued cooperation on youth-led initiatives, policy dialogue, research collaboration, and sustainable development programmes aimed at strengthening national cohesion and promoting green economic growth.
Pakistan’s Green Mobility Mission (PGMM) is a structured national effort to shift the transport sector toward electric vehicles. It connects policy, institutions, infrastructure, and finance under one framework to reduce emissions, cut fuel imports, and grow a domestic EV industry.

Pakistan’s roads are getting more crowded every year. Cities are expanding. Fuel bills keep rising. And urban air quality in places like Lahore and Karachi has become a public health issue that’s hard to ignore. The country imports billions of dollars’ worth of petroleum each year just to keep its transport sector moving.
The Pakistan Green Mobility Mission, better known as PGMM, is the government’s structured response to these pressures. It’s not a campaign or a slogan. It’s a coordination framework designed to shift Pakistan’s transport sector toward electric vehicles in a way that actually sticks.
On 9th–10th June 2026, the EV Expo and Green Mobility Conference will take place at the Pak China Friendship Center in Islamabad. PGMM anchors the event. And the timing says a lot about where Pakistan’s EV story currently stands.
