Islamabad (GNP): Deputy Prime Minister/Foreign Minister Senator Mohammad Ishaq Dar spoke with the Foreign Minister of Austria, Beate Meinl-Reisinger, and exchanged views on the evolving regional situation.
The Austrian Foreign Minister appreciated Pakistan’s constructive role in promoting dialogue and its mediation between Iran and the United States, in support of regional peace and stability.
DPM/FM reaffirmed Pakistan’s commitment to sustained diplomatic engagement, including continued efforts to facilitate dialogue between Iran and the United States, aimed at maintaining peace and stability in the region and beyond.
Pakistan has in recent months intensified diplomatic outreach with regional and global stakeholders as part of wider efforts to encourage de-escalation and prevent further instability across the region. The latest exchange between Islamabad and Vienna reflected continued international engagement over sensitive geopolitical developments and the importance of sustained diplomacy.
Senator Ishaq Dar reaffirmed Pakistan’s commitment to maintaining active diplomatic engagement and continuing facilitation efforts aimed at encouraging dialogue between Tehran and Washington. Pakistani officials said these efforts were intended to support peace and stability not only in the region but beyond.
The conversation also underscored growing diplomatic coordination between Pakistan and Austria on international issues. Both foreign ministers agreed to remain in close contact and continue consultations on regional developments and peace-building initiatives.

In separate remarks shared following the call, the Pakistani foreign minister stated that the discussion focused on the “evolving regional situation”, while reiterating Pakistan’s support for dialogue-driven solutions to complex international disputes.
Austria’s recognition of Pakistan’s diplomatic engagement comes at a time when several countries are urging restraint and political dialogue amid uncertainty in the wider region. Islamabad has consistently maintained that negotiations and sustained diplomatic channels remain essential for preventing escalation and ensuring long-term regional stability.
Both Foreign Ministers agreed to remain in close contact.
