Dar es Salam, 30 November 2021 (GNP/ TDI): The President of Uganda Yoweri K Museveni paid an official visit to Tanzania. The Ugandan President attended a high-level meeting with the President of Tanzania Samia Suluhu Hassan. He also spoke at the Tanzania-Uganda oil and Gas Symposium in Dar es Salam.

During his state visit, Ugandan President Museveni held a meeting with the President of Tanzania, Samia Suluhu Hassan. They also discussed issues of mutual concern and cooperation between the two countries.

Besides, they emphasized the importance of both countries’ partnership in bilateral trade, energy, health, and transportation networks. They also talked about the integrated markets and their beneficial impact on the people of both countries.
Moreover, President Museveni talked about various opportunities from East African Crude Oil Pipeline (EACOP) project contributes to East Africa.

Further, Uganda’s President also visited the Port of Dar es Salam and the Standard Gauge Railway (SGR) in Tanzania. SGR is an under-construction railway project that connects Tanzania with neighboring countries, Uganda and Rwanda. The project is a part of the East African Railway Master Plan.

At the end of the state visit, President Museveni paid a visit to the ancestral home of the Late Tanzania President, John Pombe Joseph Magufuli. He paid respect to the Former Head of the State of Tanzania.
