Berlin, 24 April, 2024(GNP): A staff associated with the far-right Alternative for Germany (AfD) party has been arrested on charges related to spying for China.
The individual, whose identity has not been unveiled by authorities, was seized over growing troubles on foreign influence in German political circles.
The arrest follows a thorough investigation executed by German security agencies, unveiling evidences pointing to covert activities aimed at providing private details to Chinese intelligence operatives.
The individual in question was reportedly engaged in clandestine communications and exchanges with Chinese contacts, elevating mistrust about potential breaches of national security.

The AfD, known for its nationalist and anti-immigrant perspective , has faced inspection in recent years for its purported ties to foreign agencies seeking to disrupt democratic procedures and undermine European stability.
