KARACHI, Pakistan: Babar Azam delivered a remarkable, record-breaking performance in PSL 11, producing a dominant unbeaten century that further cemented his position among the elite in T20 cricket.
The star batter reached his hundred in just 52 balls — his fastest century in the Pakistan Super League — striking six boundaries and four sixes in a composed yet aggressive innings that anchored his team’s massive total.
His effort powered Peshawar Zalmi to 255/3, their highest-ever total in PSL history, surpassing their previous best of 246/3 against Karachi Kings. This score now stands as the third-highest total in the league’s history, trailing only Quetta Gladiators’ 263/3 against Islamabad United in 2025 and Multan Sultans’ 262/3 against Quetta Gladiators in 2023.
The innings also saw Babar reach another major milestone, as he equaled the record for the most centuries in PSL history, joining Kamran Akmal, Rilee Rossouw, and Usman Khan at the top of the list.
In addition, Babar matched Virat Kohli’s long-standing record for the most century-plus partnerships in T20 cricket, reaching 47 such stands. This milestone came during a crucial 135-run partnership for the second wicket, once again highlighting his ability to build big innings and deliver under pressure.
With this achievement, Babar now shares the top spot with Kohli, ahead of legends like Chris Gayle (46), David Warner (45), and Faf du Plessis (40).
Babar also continued his steady rise in the all-time T20 records, inching closer to Chris Gayle’s tally for the most centuries in the format. With 12 T20 hundreds to his name, he remains one of the leading active players in this category and a constant threat in franchise cricket.
This latest performance adds another chapter to Babar’s growing legacy, reinforcing his reputation as one of the most dependable and consistent performers in modern-day T20 cricket.
