Pakistan International Auto Show 2026 Opens in Lahore

Lahore (GNP): The Pakistan International Auto Show 2026 has officially opened at the Lahore International Expo Centre, bringing together local and international automotive companies to showcase vehicles, electric mobility solutions, automotive components and emerging technologies.

The three-day exhibition, scheduled from September 18 to 20, is being organised by the Pakistan Association of Automotive Parts & Accessories Manufacturers (PAAPAM).

Punjab Chief Minister Maryam Nawaz Sharif inaugurated the exhibition and toured various stalls following the opening ceremony.

During her visit, she reviewed new vehicles, motorcycles, electric vehicles and other automotive products. She also expressed interest in an electric ambulance and examined Suzuki’s biogas model.

The exhibition features participation from major automotive brands, including Suzuki, Kia, GAC, Chery, Sazgar, BYD, G-Tour, Hyundai and Honda.

Cars, motorcycles, electric and semi-electric vehicles, generators and locally manufactured auto parts are among the products being displayed across the exhibition hall.

According to reports from the event, around 150 exhibitors are participating, including 44 international and 43 local exhibitors.

The exhibition is being held across four halls of the Expo Centre, giving visitors and industry representatives an opportunity to examine developments across different areas of the automotive sector.

During her visit, Maryam Nawaz also interacted with representatives and foreign experts at several company stalls.

Discussions and briefings covered the products and technologies being presented at the exhibition. She also reviewed locally manufactured products and expressed appreciation for the quality of Made-in-Pakistan automotive products.

The auto show comes at a time when Pakistan’s automotive sector is increasingly focused on electric mobility, local manufacturing and technological development.

The exhibition provides companies with an opportunity to present products to potential customers, industry partners and investors while also creating space for business-to-business engagement.

According to the event organisers, the Pakistan Auto Show is designed to showcase the capabilities and potential of Pakistan’s automotive aftermarket.

Its coverage extends beyond complete vehicles to components for drive systems, chassis, bodywork, electrical and electronic systems, tyres, batteries and vehicle-service equipment.

The exhibition also provides a platform for discussions surrounding investment and technology transfer.

Speaking at the inauguration, Maryam Nawaz described the automotive industry as an important contributor to industrial development, investment and employment.

She said the Punjab government was committed to promoting local production, investment, technology and innovation.

The event has also highlighted electric mobility and alternative technologies. In addition to conventional vehicles, visitors can view electric and semi-electric models, while the presence of an electric ambulance demonstrates the expanding range of applications being explored within the country’s mobility sector.

The exhibition is also connected to broader efforts to develop local manufacturing capacity.

Representatives from the electric vehicle and tractor manufacturing sectors discussed government programmes, including the Green Taxi, CM Bike and Green Tractor initiatives, during the event.

With local manufacturers, international companies, technology providers and automotive suppliers participating, the Pakistan International Auto Show 2026 provides a meeting point for different parts of the country’s automotive ecosystem.

The event will continue through September 20 at the Lahore International Expo Centre.

As the exhibition progresses, visitors and industry participants will have further opportunities to explore vehicle technologies, automotive components, electric mobility products and potential commercial partnerships.

The organisers expect the exhibition to contribute to business linkages, investment discussions and technology exchange while providing an overview of developments taking place across Pakistan’s automotive industry.
