Ethiopian Ambassador Announces Pakistani Business Delegation Visit

Lahore (GNP):  Ethiopian Ambassador to Pakistan Dr Oumer Hussien Oba announced a trade and investment delegation to Ethiopia at a business forum held at the Lahore Chamber of Commerce and Industry (LCCI).

On arrival, he was welcomed by LCCI President Ali Hussam Asghar, Vice President Khadim Hussain and other office bearers.

Oba said the Ethiopian Embassy in Islamabad will lead a Pakistani business delegation to Ethiopia from 24 to 29 January 2027 to strengthen trade and investment ties.

He invited companies in pharmaceuticals, surgical goods, textiles, agriculture, agro-processing, ICT and tourism to join and explore openings in Ethiopia’s growing economy.

He also congratulated the LCCI president and office bearers on their election and wished them success.

Asghar pledged full support for the delegation and said the chamber will help Lahore’s business community take part. He pointed to the potential of bilateral trade, noting that Ethiopia’s market matters for Pakistani firms and Pakistan’s market for Ethiopian ones.

Current trade, he said, does not reflect that potential, and he proposed a 90-day plan with the Ethiopian Embassy in Islamabad to facilitate it. He also invited Ethiopian chambers of commerce to visit the LCCI so that business-to-business meetings can promote trade further.
