Islamabad, 8 November 2022 (GNP/ TDI): Azerbaijan’s “Victory day” is celebrated in Islamabad, Pakistan, on the night of November 7, 2022. Khawaja Asif, Minister of Defence of Pakistan, was the Chief Guest at the event.

While addressing the audience, the minister of defense said that only regional connectivity would entirely change the region’s dynamics.
He also mentioned that due to the instability in the landlocked neighboring state, Afghanistan, Pakistan could not reach the Central Asian region.
He also highlighted the severe consequences of the war on terror on Pakistan and the region’s connectivity and development.
He appreciated the aid and assistance given to Pakistan from Azerbaijan in august 2022 to the flood-affected people of Pakistan.
The minister also underscored the importance of regional connectivity regarding the energy crisis. Pakistan is state facing an energy crisis for a long time.
Azerbaijan has reasonable recourse for energy production and has offered Pakistan cooperation in the energy field to tackle the energy crisis.
Both states, by featuring economic policies, the region can achieve progress, connectivity, and cooperation. He also mentioned that both states have deep historical roots.
He concluded his remakes with a note that the relationship between Pakistan and Azerbaijan has to be revisited based on shared political interests and history, like good brothers and good neighbors.
Representatives from both states participated the in the event of Azerbaijanian Victory Day. a cake-cutting ceremony also took place at the event.
Friendship between Azerbaijan and Pakistan
The bilateral ties between the two countries have a rich historical foundation, which explains everything. Both countries value one another’s opinions and share many common ideals.
It is important to note that Pakistan was one of the first nations to recognize the independence of Azerbaijan in the 1990s. As a result, the two nations’ diplomatic ties were established in 1992.
In all international forums, Pakistan has consistently upheld Azerbaijan’s interests and conveyed its strong opposition to Armenia’s aggression against Azerbaijan.
Since Azerbaijan’s independence, several initiatives have been undertaken to strengthen ties with Pakistan and widen our cooperation in several areas.
Our fraternal connections have improved, and our strategic cooperation between the two countries is progressing smoothly.
Victory Day of Azerbaijan
Victory Day of Azerbaijan was celebrated on November 8, 2022. The day is observed as a public holiday in the state. On December 2, 2020, the President of Azerbaijan announced this day as an annual national holiday. The day is celebrated in remembrance of Baku’s victory in the 2020 Nagorno-Karabakh war.
Armenia and Azerbaijan had a conflict over the Nagorno-Karabakh region. The conflict came to an end when both sides signed a ceasefire agreement.
