Islamabad, 27 October 2021 (TDI): Prime Minister Imran Khan and Prince of Wales Charles held a conversation on a phone call. The two counterparts engaged in a conversation on Climate change and Humanitarian assistance to Afghanistan.
Prime Minister Imran Khan, highlighted the importance of climate change and urged that every nation must combat this menace. He advocated principles of equity in the struggle of combatting climate change.
Prime Minister Imran Khan highlighted Pakistan’s contributions towards the cause of climate change. He reiterated Pakistan’s full commitment to play its role in addressing the global environmental challenges.
The two leaders on the telephonic phone call exchanged views on the upcoming UN Climate Change Conference. The conference will begin from 31 October to 12 November 2021 in Glasgow, United Kingdom.
Prime Minister Imran Khan mentioned its recent submission of revised contributions under the Paris Agreement to highlight Pakistan’s role towards the cause. The Prime minister briefly mentioned Pakistan’s target to reduce almost 50% of Projected Green House Gases by 2030.
About peace in South Asia, Imran Khan conveyed Pakistan’s national interest vested in a peaceful and stable Afghanistan. Prime Minister highlighted the possibility of a possible economic downfall of Afghanistan and urged for an international resolve.
Prime Minister said that it is high time for the international community to come together to avert the possibility of a potential humanitarian crisis in Afghanistan.
Prince of Wales expressed gratitude on behalf of the British Government. He also acknowledged Pakistan’s efforts in facilitating evacuation in Afghanistan.
