Islamabad (GNP): President Asif Ali Zardari has expressed sorrow over the injuries sustained by citizens in an explosion near the Old Police Lines in Kohat and directed that those injured receive immediate and the best possible medical assistance.
According to the President’s Office, Zardari conveyed his best wishes for the swift recovery of those injured in the incident.
He also stressed the need for prompt medical care and support for the affected people. The explosion occurred in Kohat, Khyber Pakhtunkhwa, on Friday, with rescue teams responding to the scene and injured people being shifted to the District Headquarters Hospital.
Authorities also imposed an emergency at the hospital as casualties were brought in for treatment.
In his response to the incident, the president also emphasized the importance of national security and called for the elimination of what he described as Kharijite militants and terrorists operating with external support.
The incident took place near the Old Police Lines during Friday prayers, according to police and rescue officials.

Initial reports said the blast caused significant damage in the area, including to a mosque, while security personnel were deployed around the site.
