Islamabad, 27 October 2021 (TDI): Pakistani State Minister for Information and Broadcasting, Farrukh Habib addressed a webinar organized by the International Department of the Communist Party of China (IDCPC).

Farrukh Habib was representing Pakistan in the Online Exchange Event. The event was held for Political Parties of Southeast Asian and South Asian Countries.

Whilst addressing the Webinar, he said that as a member of Pakistan Tehreek-e-Insaaf (PTI), he got the opportunity to observe the admirable development and prosperity of China in 2019.

China-Pakistan Ties

China and Pakistan have strong bilateral ties and are all-weather strategic partners. This year marks the 70th anniversary of Pak-China diplomatic ties. The sturdy relation between the two is the epitome of mutual respect and trust in international relations.

Significance of Exchange of Youth Delegations

The Minister underscored the significance of the youth exchange programs. He stated that it’s integral to enhance bilateral ties. Youth is an asset for the development of any country. It is fortunate that the Communist Party of China (CPC) has more than 22 million young party members; under the age of 35. He also pointed out that CPC has created a merit-based system. Such a system generates ample opportunities for the youth.

Merit-based Political System

Farrukh Habib conveyed the appreciation of Prime Minister Imran Khan, for such merit-based systems. Pakistan’s Prime Minister envisions a political system based on merit for Pakistan. Ergo the mantra of “Naya Pakistan”.

National Job Portal

He expressed that educated and well-aware youth hopes to fix the future of the country by supporting PTI. Imran Khan is working tirelessly to ensure that dream. The agenda is to empower the youth. For that, a national job portal was set up to eliminate unemployment. The portal is also affiliated with more than 100 Career Counseling and Job Placement Centers (CC & JPCs).

Economic Ventures initiated by Youth

Pakistan is experiencing change because of economic ventures initiated by the youth. As a result, such ventures have produced more than 50,000 jobs, for youth in various fields.

Population of Pakistan

The Minister apprised the attendees of the Webinar with the latest statistics. He said that 63% of the total youth in Pakistan is under 25 years of age. However, 43 million youth are between 15 and 24 years of age. So far, Rs. 28 billion were released out of Rs. 100 billion allocated for the success of the youth program.

Kamyab Jawan Program

Furthermore, under the Kamyab Jawan Program (KJP), a business index of 155 districts was prepared. The purpose was to ascertain the trend of businesses. Approximately Rs. 6.5 billion were distributed as need-based scholarships.

National Youth Council

Farrukh Habib stated that the National Youth Council (NYC) came into being to involve the youth of Pakistan in the policy-making process. Also, the Government of Pakistan is providing financial and technical assistance to train youth. This will enable them to open high-tech trade and businesses in multiple fields.

Special Economic Zones (SEZs) are being created as well.  Subsequently, they will benefit Pakistan and China; as an extension of the China-Pakistan Economic Corridor (CPEC).

Farrukh Habib lauded IDCPC

The Minister expressed gratitude at the end. He expressed his desire to lead a delegation of Pakistani youth on a visit to China. Moreover, he lauded IDCPC for launching a vocational training platform for youth.

The webinar was attended by the IDCPC Vice Minister, Chen Zhou, and officials of political parties of different countries. A large number of young people also attended the event.
