Israel’s actions in West Bank similar to ‘apartheid’, former IDF general

IDF is becoming "complicit in war crimes," Amiram Levin said.

Jerusalem, 15 Aug, 2023 (GNP): The retired Israeli army general stated that his country’s involvement in the held area of the West Bank was the same as the ‘apartheid’ under Nazi Germany.

In an interview, on Sunday, a former major general in the Israel Defense Forces (IDF), Amiram Levin said that the IDF is becoming “complicit in war crimes.”

He also expressed that these actions and measures were “reminiscent of processes that happened in Nazi Germany.”

However, the former IDF commander’s statement is similarly important as the Israeli government, and the nationals living abroad, seriously condemn people who compare the state’s violent actions in occupied regions to the offensive activities committed against Jews throughout the rule of Adolf Hitler in Germany.

When Levin queried whether Israel’s actions were alike to those in Europe during the years approaching the Holocaust, he answered, ” Walk around Hebron and you will see streets that Arabs cannot walk there. It is painful and unpleasant but it is the reality.”

“We find it difficult to say it, but that’s the truth,” he added.

Moreover, the retired major general, who also served as the deputy head of Mossad, showed the fear that IDF soldiers will not be encouraged to guard the country if the alliance gets successful in fettering the judiciary.

Furthermore, the military’s preparation has been affected because of threats and refusals to serve amidst the government’s judicial mending. Meanwhile, Levin stated that the IDF was also “rotten to its core” due to Israel’s existence in the West Bank.
