ISLAMABAD (GNP): President of the Islamic Republic of Iran, Dr. Masoud Pezeshkian, arrived at the Prime Minister House today, where he was accorded a formal and warm welcome by Prime Minister Muhammad Shehbaz Sharif, marking a high point in his official state visit to Pakistan.
Upon his arrival, a smartly turned-out contingent representing the tri-services of Pakistan’s Armed Forces presented a grand guard of honor to the visiting dignitary. President Pezeshkian inspected the guard, followed by national anthems, symbolizing the deep-rooted ties between the two neighboring nations.

Following the ceremony, both leaders introduced their respective high-level delegations, which included key ministers and senior officials tasked with advancing bilateral cooperation. To commemorate the historic visit, President Pezeshkian also planted a sapling in the lawns of the Prime Minister House.
The ceremonial reception paved the way for high-level delegation talks focusing on the operationalization of the recently signed 14-point Islamabad Memorandum of Understanding. The discussions aimed at establishing frameworks for technical dialogue on critical regional security issues, including maritime arrangements in the Strait of Hormuz and stability in Lebanon.
