Event on 50 years of the arrival of Pakistanis in Norway

Oslo, 3 November 2021 (GNP/TDI): Oslo City Council hosted a colorful event on 29 October 2021 at Oslo City Hall (Nobel awards venue) to mark over 50 years of the arrival of Pakistanis in Norway.

King herald V of Norway also attended the ceremony. Ambassador Babar thanked him for gracing the event. Marianne Borgen, the Lord Mayor of Oslo, Chief Minister Raymond Johansen, and a significant number of members of the Pakistani community attended the event. The Norwegian dignitaries praised the prominence of Pakistanis in Norway’s social, economic, and political mosaic in their statements.

The Pakistani diaspora, according to Ambassador Babar, is the most enduring link for close cordial relations. He added Pakistanis have played a positive part in the development of both Pakistan and Norway.

Oslo Municipality organized the celebration to acknowledge the valuable contribution of Pakistanis. The event showcased standup narration of Pakistanis’ experience in Norway.
