Ethiopian Ambassador honored with National Peace Award

NPJC Chairman presented Ambassador Jemal Beker with the award, commending his pivotal role in fortifying bilateral relations between Ethiopia and Pakistan.

Islamabad, 31 Aug, 2023 (GNP): The National Peace and Justice Council (NPJC) has awarded the Ambassador of the Federal Democratic Republic of Ethiopia to Pakistan, Jemal Beker Abdula, with the prestigious National Peace Award.

This distinguished accolade pays tribute to his unwavering commitment to nurturing strong bonds between the two nations. The award ceremony unfolded during the National Peace Seminar held at the Islamabad Club, according to an official statement released on Thursday.

At the event, NPJC Chairman Mian Abdul Waheed presented Ambassador Jemal Beker with the award, commending his pivotal role in fortifying bilateral relations between the Federal Democratic Republic of Ethiopia (FDRE) and Pakistan.

He underscored peace as a shared cornerstone between the nations, highlighting their substantial contributions to the United Nations Peacekeeping Mission, working concertedly for global peace, stability, and prosperity.

The ambassador paid homage to Pakistan’s resolute sacrifices in the pursuit of international harmony, noting the nation’s enduring dedication to this noble cause.

He emphasized the pivotal role of peace in human advancement, particularly in the rapidly evolving global landscape. He called for sustained endeavors in attaining peace through constructive dialogues, negotiations, and counteracting the propagation of misinformation.
