Chinese Ambassador gives interview to PTV

He highlighted the role of the CPEC in Pakistani development.

Islamabad, 3 December 2021 (GNP/ TDI): Chinese Ambassador to Pakistan Nong Rong gave an interview to Pakistani National TV.

Nong Rong talked with Shabahat Ali in the PTV’s program of Fault Lines. He congratulated PTV on its 57th anniversary of establishment. He wished good luck and success to the Pakistani National Television. The interview was held in the Chinese Embassy in Pakistan on 28 November 2021.

The Chinese ambassador to Pakistan emphasized the bilateral relations of the two states. He stated that China and Pakistan are ironclad friends. The friendship of the two countries is deeply rooted in the hearts of people. He highlighted the statements of the Pakistani Prime Minister Imran Khan in which he declares China deeply trusted and best friend. He said that China has full confidence in its friendship with Pakistan.

Chinese Ambassador highlighted the role of CPEC in Pakistani development

The Chinese head of delegation in Pakistan also put emphasis on the China-Pakistan Economic Corridor. He pointed out that the CPEC has further strengthened cooperation between the two sides. China is happy to help Pakistan in its social and economic development through the projects of the CPEC, he added.

Nong Rong noted that the CPEC has helped Pakistan in meeting its energy needs, improving the transportation system, and enhancing industrialization by upgrading the infrastructure of the country. He also highlighted that CPEC also helped in improving the livelihood of Pakistani people. This has been achieved by the mutual efforts of both states, added the ambassador.

He stressed that the CPEC project is win-win cooperation for China and Pakistan. There will be a huge development in Pakistan. Gwadar will become one of the biggest trade hubs in the world. It will stimulate the Pakistani economy. China can also get benefit from these projects a lot, he added. The trade routes of China can be shortened by using the Gwadar-Xinjiang route which will eliminate numerous challenges of using the route of Asia-Pacific and South China China Sea.

The Chinese Ambassador also discussed regional and international issues especially recent developments in Afghanistan. He emphasized that China is concerned about the alarming situation of Afghanistan. He underscored that China is working to assist Afghanistan in its dire humanitarian crisis.

The ambassador noted that China is providing 200 Million RMB to Afghanistan to deal with its humanitarian challenges. He stated that China has also resumed trade with Afghanistan to help its economy. Chinese and regional stability and prosperity depend on Afghanistan’s stability therefore China will continue to work for the peace and prosperity of Afghanistan, he added.

Nong Rong also denounced the accusations of the genocide of Muslims in the Chinese region of Xinjiang. He highlighted that Muslims have doubled since the last 40 years in China. He stressed that many diplomats including the Pakistani ambassador to China Moin-ul-Haque visited the Xinjiang region. They found no proof of genocide in the region which denies the Western propaganda against China.

He stated that China and Pakistan will strengthen their cooperation to create a shared community of China-Pakistan on shared interests. China will also share its experience of poverty eradication with Pakistan, the ambassador added.

China and Pakistan are two old friends which helped each other in their difficult times. Their friendship stood at the times of testing. The two countries have deep mutual trust in each other. There share partnerships in regional and international organizations. They look forward to further enhancing their cooperation.
