Indonesia (GNP): ASEAN and the Pacific Alliance have reaffirmed their commitment to strengthening interregional cooperation following a meeting between the Committee of Permanent Representatives to ASEAN (CPR) and the National Coordinators of the Pacific Alliance held at the ASEAN Headquarters in Jakarta.
Conducted in a hybrid format, the meeting reviewed progress made under the ASEAN-Pacific Alliance Work Plan 2021–2026 while exchanging perspectives on recent political, economic, and regional developments.
Representatives from both organizations emphasized the importance of continued collaboration to address shared opportunities and emerging global challenges.
The discussions focused on expanding cooperation across multiple sectors, including trade, sustainable development, regional connectivity, digital transformation, and economic resilience.
Participants agreed that stronger institutional partnerships would contribute to long-term prosperity and stability across both regions.
The meeting brought together members of the Committee of Permanent Representatives, National Coordinators of the Pacific Alliance, the Deputy Secretary-General of ASEAN for the ASEAN Political-Security Community, and ambassadors representing Pacific Alliance member countries based in Jakarta.
Officials highlighted that the ASEAN-Pacific Alliance partnership has become an important platform for promoting dialogue between Southeast Asia and Latin America.
Through regular consultations and practical cooperation, both organizations seek to strengthen economic integration, encourage knowledge sharing, and support sustainable growth.
Participants also acknowledged the importance of multilateral engagement in addressing global issues, including supply chain resilience, climate change, food security, and digital innovation.
