ISLAMABAD GNP:- Hasan Ali has been signed by Yorkshire County Cricket Club as a replacement for Naveen-ul-Haq ahead of the upcoming T20 Blast campaign. Naveen has been ruled out of the 2026 English summer due to injury, paving the way for the Pakistan seamer, who is currently in outstanding form following his performances in the PSL.
Hasan will be available for the full duration of the T20 Blast and is also set to feature in two County Championship fixtures for Yorkshire, specifically against Warwickshire County Cricket Club and Leicestershire County Cricket Club.
This will not be Hasan Ali’s first stint in the T20 Blast. He previously represented Warwickshire across three seasons from 2023 to 2025, where he built an impressive record. In 22 matches, he picked up 44 wickets at an average of 14.93, maintaining an economy rate of 8.36. His standout performance during that period included remarkable figures of 6 for 23, underlining his ability to dominate in the shortest format.
Beyond English domestic cricket, Hasan has been a consistent performer across T20 leagues worldwide. Across 233 matches, he has taken 336 wickets at an average of 20.60, while conceding runs at a rate of 8.15 per over. His experience and adaptability make him a valuable addition to any T20 setup.
Yorkshire’s general manager, Gavin Hamilton, welcomed the signing while also expressing disappointment at missing out on Naveen’s services.
“Whilst we’re naturally disappointed to not see Naveen join us this year, in Hasan we have an exceptional replacement,” Hamilton said in an official statement. “He arrives with a wealth of experience and a skillset that we believe will be invaluable to the group. We’re delighted to have secured someone of Hasan’s quality at such short notice, and everyone at the Club is looking forward to welcoming him to Headingley next month.”
Meanwhile, Yorkshire’s start to their County Championship campaign has been far from ideal. They suffered a heavy 214-run defeat to Hampshire County Cricket Club in the second round after opening their season with a draw against Glamorgan County Cricket Club. As it stands, Yorkshire find themselves at the bottom of the Division One table and will be hoping Hasan’s arrival injects fresh energy into their campaign.
