Rabat (GNP): King Mohammed VI received Fatima Ezzahra El Mansouri, the Head of Government tasked with forming the new government, at the Royal Palace in Rabat on Wednesday, October 14, 2026.
The audience was held so that El Mansouri could report on the progress of her mission. During the meeting, she briefed the King on the various stages of the government formation process completed so far.
The King used the occasion to wish her success in the task. He stressed that the next stage requires comprehensive involvement and serious, responsible government action, given the scale of the issues, challenges and expectations on various fronts.
His remarks set out what the monarch expects from the incoming government as it takes shape. They also show that the formation process is being followed closely at the highest level of the state.

The Royal Palace said the audience falls within the constitutional powers conferred upon the King and reflects the Sovereign’s will to ensure the proper functioning of constitutional institutions.
