Islamabad, 12 January 2023 (GNP): President Alvi expressed serious concern about the national harmony and economy of Pakistan and political parties had to come to table talks and sort out some solutions for economic recovery.
In an interview, the President of Pakistan, Arif Hussain Alvi, commented on politics and said that political parties must lower their heated arguments and avoid further deterioration and formulate planning to overcome the economic crisis in the country.
Additionally, Arif Alvi tried to negotiate with the ruling political parties and Pakistan Tehreek-e-Insaf (PTI), and other stakeholders. The President said that political differences were part of democracy and politics. But, they had to make plans for the economic stability of the country. He did not insist on dialogue with Imran Khan, Chairman of Pakistan Tehreek-e-Insaf, but he said political parties should have the courage to discuss with each other at least and leaders can meet up.

Dr. Arif described the consultation on the appointment of Asim Munir as COAS and said that Ex-Prime Minister Imran Khan was satisfied with Asim Munir as the Army Chief of Pakistan. There were no unsatisfactory relations between Imran Khan and the current army chief commander, he adds.
2023 is an election year and political parties should negotiate about election procedure time and date the whether it would be held sooner or later in Pakistan, he added. The President said that he launched efforts personally to reduce the differences between stakeholders and Imran Khan.
Nevertheless, social media roles were the main factor in tensioning the relations between Qamar Javed Bajwa and Imran Khan. Social media played a prominent role in negative and misunderstanding. He pointed out social media handling procedures and that the country failed to achieve its objectives.
In the end, the President was determined to play a positive role and bring people together. He added that it is a constitutional duty to perform and keep a united federation.
