Islamabad, 12 January 2023 (GNP): Pakistani actress and model, Mehwish Hayat took action against her character assassination attempts made by the public and social media audiences after the retired army major, Adil Raja revealed the initials of some actresses and models a few days back, who he claimed stayed at ISI safe houses and were ‘used’ by former senior officials, as disclosed by the officials’ closed aids.
Adil Raja further alleged that these models and actresses also ‘worked’ with several politicians, who were also invited to ISI safe houses and several videos were recorded as well. The initials he revealed were SA, MA, and others. After these allegations, people on social media started to speculate Mehwish Hayat was among those actresses as well.
However, initially, Mehwish Hayat expressed her thoughts on the situation in a tweet but later, the speculations turned into allegations and slanders, against which she recently filed a petition to Sindh High Court while the court has taken immediate action by giving the Federal Investigation Agency (FIA) and Pakistan Telecommunication Authority (PTA) two weeks to have the content removed.
She wrote the following in a tweet after the public speculated her to be among the actresses Adil Raja claimed:
insinuations about someone you know nothing about & even bigger shame on people who believe this bullshit. This just shows the sickness of our society that laps up this gutter journalism without any thought. But this stops & it stops now!I won’t allow anyone to defame my name.2/2

After filing the petition against the defamatory content against her circulating on social media, she again tweeted:

After Sindh High Court passed the orders to have defamatory content against her removed, she gave an interview to the press media warning the group of people who speculated her initials to be the one Adil Raja, the rtd. major was talking about. She said: “Shame on you for spreading baseless allegations and insinuations about someone you know nothing about and even bigger shame on people who believe this bullshit. This just shows the sickness of our society that laps up this gutter journalism without any thought. But this stops and it stops now! I won’t allow anyone to defame my name.”
