PCB removed high-ranking officials from respective posts

PCB has removed two high-ranking officials from their respective posts.

Lahore, 21 July, 2023 (GNP): The Director Media of Pakistan Cricket Board (PCB) Sami-ul-Hasan was removed from his post and transferred to the division of Special Projects on Thursday.

However, this change happened shortly after the former chief executive Faisal Hasnain had gone through the same experience.

The changes were implemented with immediate effect by the instructions of the board’s short-term Management Committee chairman Zaka Ashraf.

Faisal, who was appointed as a chief executive last year during Ramiz Raja’s period as chairman, was providing his services in an unspecified role following the reinstatement of the PCB’s constitution of the year 2014, which does not include the position of chief executive.

Faisal had performed well and showed excellence in every work which was assigned to him even with an ambiguous position under the chairmanship of Najam Sethi as well.

However, Faisal appears to have been pushed outside of the board’s power circle with Sethi replaced by Zaka as the Interim Management Committee chairman.

Meanwhile, Sami managed the media department of PCB since 2019 and has been the media director of the International Cricket Board (ICC) but seems to have lost his impact on the board as well.

A senior employee of the media department, Raza Kitchlew has been appointed as the director media of the board replacing Sami, the sources said.
