Karachi, 22June, 2023(GNP): The Pakistan Cricket Board (PCB) has announced the formation of a new Board of Governors. The previous board, created by Najam Sethi, has been declared null and void. The Election Commissioner, Ahmed Shahzad Farooq Rana, has announced the formation of the new body, with the election of the PCB Chairman scheduled for June 28. The ultimate authority and Patron of the board is the Prime Minister. Zaka Ashraf has been nominated for the position.
The Ministry of Inter-Provincial Coordination dissolved the PCB’s management committee through a notification on June 20. However, on the same day, committee chairman Najam Sethi announced the Board of Governors, which has now been declared null and void by the Election Commissioner.

The new Board of Governors includes nominated members, including Zaka Ashraf and Mustafa Ramday. Representations have been made from various regions and institutions such as National Bank, State Bank, Sui Northern Gas Pipeline Limited, and Sui Southern Gas Company.

The election for the Chairman of PCB will take place on June 28 at the PCB Headquarters in Lahore. The election schedule will be released after receiving nominations from the relevant institutions. The preparations for the transition of board leadership to Zaka Ashraf are already underway.
