Pakistan, Malaysia discusses upcoming Climate International Conference

PM Shahbaz Sharif cherished bilateral cooperation and relations with Malaysia. Anwar Ibrahim wanted to have historical and long-standing relations with Pakistan as well.

Islamabad, 3 January 2023 (GNP): Prime Minister of Pakistan, Shahbaz Sharif, made a telephone call to his counterpart, Anwar Ibrahim, who was the Prime Minister of Malaysia. Leaders of Pakistan and Malaysia talked about Climate International Conference and the Pakistani Prime Minister congratulated his Malaysian counterpart on his victory in the election.

Prime Minister Anwar Ibrahim welcomed his wishes and expressed his preference for a bilateral relationship with Pakistan. Anwar Ibrahim wanted to have historical and long-standing relations with Pakistan as well.

PM Shahbaz Sharif cherished bilateral cooperation and relations with Malaysia and explained to him about flood destruction and the upcoming International Conference on Climate Resilient Pakistan, which will be held on January 9, 2023, in Geneva.

Anwar Ibrahim ensured the importance of the conference and provided support.

Shahbaz was determined to strengthen political, economic, and trade cooperation with Malaysia. Both leaders were satisfied with the strong social and economic ties between Pakistan and Malaysia.

They also reiterated their support for peace and stability in every aspect of the disaster.

PM Anwar Ibrahim showed high concern about flood destruction in Pakistan and the climate change phenomenon in the world. Counterpart Anwar Ibrahim to the upcoming International Conference on Climate Resilient Pakistan, which will bring together the entire international community to support Pakistan’s recovery and rehabilitation efforts.

The international community will point out some solutions to overcome the climate change phenomenon and the recovery process for Pakistan’s flood-affected areas.

The newly elected Prime minister of Malaysia received a congratulations letter from Mian Muhammad Shahbaz Sharif, the prime minister of Pakistan.

On November 24, 2022, Ismail Sabri Yaakob, Malaysia’s ninth prime minister, was succeeded by Anwar Ibrahim.
On assuming the oath of office as the Prime Minister of Malaysia, Prime Minister Shahbaz Sharif sent his counterpart his warmest congratulations.

In addition, the Prime Minister of Pakistan indicated a desire to strengthen bilateral ties by collaborating more closely with the incoming Malaysian government.

He said Pakistan looks forward to cooperating with Malaysia to further the two brotherly countries’ long-standing ties and collaboration.
