Islamabad, 12 December 2022 (GNP): The Organization of Islamic Cooperation’s (OIC) Secretary-General, Hissein Brahim Taha, and a group of 10 people paid COMSTECH a visit on Monday.
Senior representatives from the Foreign Ministry accompanied the OIC mission. The Coordinator-General of COMSTECH, Prof. Dr. M. Iqbal Choudhary, and his staff extended a warm welcome to the Secretary-General and his group.
In his presentation to the Secretary-General, Prof. Choudhary covered the background of COMSTECH, its vision and mission, previous accomplishments, current activities, and future prospects.

He also led the delegation on a tour of the COMSTECH facilities to get them acquainted. He gave them an overview of the state-of-the-art training tools available there to assist OIC states in increasing their capabilities.

Additionally, he offered perceptive advice and ideas that would be used in COMSTECH’s future goals. The present-day COMSTECH programmes were appreciated by Hissein Brahim Taha.
These include the COMSTECH-IFS Research Grants Program, the COMSTECH-ICGEB Cooperation Program, the Fellowships Program, the Palestine, Yemen, and Africa Health Programs, and the Consortium of Excellence.
He also praised the Research Fellowships for OIC LDCs Program, the COMSTECH-TWAS Science in Exile Program, as well as webinars, workshops, conferences, and exhibits for their contributions to capacity building.
