Tallinn, 2 October 2021 (TDI): Eva-Maria Liimets, the Foreign Minister of Estonia talked with Liz Truss, the Foreign Secretary of the United Kingdom. They conversed about strengthening their bilateral relations and agreed on enhancing economic cooperation. Both sides discussed the threats to security especially cyber security which has become more vulnerable in this developed world.
Eva expressed her pleasure to talk with Liz Truss about Belarus and hybrid threats, close cooperation at the UNSC, digital Cyber, security, and economy. She also appreciated UK for the leading role of the UK’s Armed Forces in NATO’s eFP and Baltic Air Policing mission.

They called for close cooperation in the United Nations Security Council. The Estonian Foreign Minister also acknowledged the contribution of the United Kingdom in protecting the Baltic air borders.
UK was the first EU country to restore visa-free travel with Estonia after its independence in 1991. The United Kingdom supported the government of Estonia for its membership in the EU and NATO. It has been one of the strongest allies of Estonia due to which both states enjoy close relations.
