FC Barcelona Clinch La Liga with Clasico Win

Barcelona (GNP): FC Barcelona sealed the La Liga title emphatically after defeating arch-rivals Real Madrid 2-0 in El Clásico, securing the championship with three matches remaining. Under Hansi Flick, FC Barcelona retained the La Liga title with a 2-0 Clasico win over Real Madrid CF at Camp Nou

Playing at Camp Nou, Hansi Flick’s side stormed into a two-goal lead within the opening 18 minutes and never looked back. Real Madrid survived further damage largely thanks to a series of crucial saves from goalkeeper Thibaut Courtois.

Despite Madrid’s efforts to respond, Barcelona maintained control throughout the match to confirm their 29th league title in club history.

The final whistle sparked wild celebrations among Barcelona players and coaching staff, with head coach Hansi Flick praising supporters after the match and describing his squad as “a family.”

The result also marked only the second time in La Liga history that an El Clásico directly decided the league title.

The first came in 1932, when Real Madrid secured the championship following a 2-2 draw.

With three games left, Barcelona now sit top of the table with 91 points from 35 matches, 14 clear of second-placed Real Madrid, who remain on 77 points. Even if Barcelona lose all three remaining fixtures, Madrid can no longer catch the Catalan giants.

They trounced Athletic Bilbao 4-0 in a confidence-boosting victory, pulling level with Madrid at the top of the table, and are unbeaten there in La Liga this season.

In fact, the Catalans are hoping to go through the whole campaign without dropping a point at home.

That includes two matches played at their tiny Johan Cruyff training ground stadium at the start of the season, before another stint at Montjuic’s Olympic stadium.

To do this they need to beat Real Betis in their remaining home match.
