New York, 5 October 2021 (GNP/ TDI): Ambassador and Permanent Representative of Bangladesh to the UN, Rabab Fatima calls on the International community on the Rohingya Crisis at the 76th Session of the United Nations General Assembly.

The address aimed to provoke the international community to stand up for the rights of Muslims of Rohingya. She said that it is vital that the regional countries play their part. Moreover, she also expressed despair in that regard. According to the Ambassador, the unnecessary delay is causing the lives of many. She added that Bangladesh is a proponent of multilateralism. It believes in the UN leadership in addressing the world’s complicated concerns.

In Myanmar, the Rohingya have been subjected to decades of brutality, injustice, and persecution. After a massive wave of violence erupted in Myanmar’s Rakhine State in 2017, more than 700,000 people were forced to flee to Bangladesh.
