US hopeful to further deepen partnership with Pakistan

Washington, 15 Aug, 2023 (GNP): The United States Secretary of State Antony Blinken stated on Monday that Washington looks forward to deepening its partnership with Islamabad to build a promising future for both countries.

He extended his greetings to the people of Pakistan on 77th Independence Day in an official statement. Blinken remarked that the US respects its 76-year-old relationship with Pakistan and expressed his country’s great assistance for the economic stability of Pakistan.

Reportedly, the US state secretary said, “As we usher in a new year of cooperation, and as Pakistan prepares to hold elections, we look forward to advancing inclusive economic growth, energy security, and promoting peace and regional stability.”

The US official commented that both Washington and Islamabad share a dedication to democratic principles and have high regard for the rule of law that will help to carry forward their partnership.

The statement further said that the US continued to be devoted to its friendship with the Pakistani people and its relationship with the Government of Pakistan.

On the other hand, the Consulate General of the US in Karachi, Nicole Theriot, greeted the Pakistani nation with a “happy” Independence Day in a statement.

“Today the American and Pakistani staff celebrate Pakistan’s Independence Day. On behalf of the American people, the US Consulate General in Karachi congratulates the people of Pakistan on [their] 76th year of independence as well as 76 years of bilateral relations between the United States of America and Pakistan.”

Moreover, Theriot declared that both the US and Pakistan have a great partnership based on a shared interest in economic development, mutual prosperity, and regional security.

“As we celebrate this milestone together and look to the future, the United States remains committed to our friendship with the Pakistani people and our relationship with the Government of Pakistan,” she added.
