Ukraine stands firm against Russian aggression, appeals for continued support

Brussels, November 29, 2023, (GNP):  Kyiv’s Foreign Minister, Dmytro Kuleba, emphasized Ukraine’s unwavering commitment to combatting Russia’s invasion during a recent NATO summit in Brussels.

He underscored Ukraine’s resolute stance against the ongoing aggression, firmly stating, “We have to continue, we have to keep fighting. Ukraine is not going to back down.”

Despite grappling with a challenging military stalemate and signs of dwindling international assistance due to shifting global focus, Minister Kuleba stressed the significance of sustained support from the Western allies.

He emphasized that the conflict is not merely about Ukraine’s security but also concerns the safety and stability of the broader Euro-Atlantic region.

Amid concerns over Western fatigue and attention being diverted to other global crises, including the conflict in the Middle East, Minister Kuleba’s plea resonates as a vital call for continued solidarity.

The United States, as Ukraine’s primary single-country donor, has provided substantial aid exceeding $40 billion since the onset of Russia’s invasion in February 2022.

However, delays in the release of an additional $61 billion by the US Congress pose challenges for Ukraine’s efforts.

Moreover, obstacles in passing a $50 billion aid package from the European Union, mainly due to objections from Hungary, further exacerbate Ukraine’s worries about depleting resources, particularly as the nation braces for a harsh winter ahead.
