Saudi Film Confex 2026 Returns to Riyadh on October 28

Riyadh (GNP): The Saudi Film Commission will hold the fourth edition of Saudi Film Confex 2026 on October 28 and 29 at JAX Film Studios in Riyadh.

The event takes place under the patronage of Prince Bader bin Abdullah bin Farhan, who serves as Minister of Culture and Chairman of the Board of Directors of the Saudi Film Commission. Benchmark is organising it under the commission’s supervision.

This year’s edition carries the theme “Industry Shapers’ Edition”. It will bring together film sector leaders, decision-makers, professionals and specialists, with a focus on expanding investment and partnership opportunities. That aim sits within the National Culture Strategy under Saudi Vision 2030.

Confex works as a specialised business platform for the whole film ecosystem. Its participants include production and distribution companies, technical service providers, investment entities, financing funds, educational institutions and relevant government bodies. They use the event to forge partnerships, sign agreements and exchange expertise.

For 2026, the organisers have chosen a focused two-day format aimed at two groups. The first is executives and decision-makers, including corporate leaders and representatives of government entities and nonprofit organisations active in the sector. The second is industry professionals and specialists, such as producers, directors, screenwriters, production and distribution companies, and creative and technical service providers.

The programme is built around three activities: a conference with panel discussions, an exhibition showcasing companies across the film sector, and specialised workshops. Together they allow attendees to share knowledge and connect with organisations working throughout the industry.

The 2026 edition builds on a record of tangible partnerships. Across the first three editions, 94 agreements were signed with a combined value exceeding SAR 1 billion (Saudi riyals).

Through Confex, the Saudi Film Commission reinforces Saudi Arabia’s position as a regional hub for film industry development and support. The goal is a thriving Saudi film sector able to compete regionally and globally.
