PM stresses P2P exchanges to strengthen Pak-China ties

Islamabad (GNP):   Prime Minister Shehbaz Sharif said that continued political engagement and exchanges between political parties are important for strengthening Pakistan-China relations. He made the remarks when Liu Haixing, Minister of the International Department of the Central Committee of the Communist Party of China (IDCPC), called on him in Islamabad.

Welcoming Liu and his delegation, Shehbaz said Pakistan and China share an ironclad, time-tested, all-weather strategic cooperative partnership, built on mutual trust, mutual respect and deep bonds between their peoples.

He praised the IDCPC for its role in building institutional links and promoting cooperation between the political leaderships of the two countries. Reaffirming Pakistan’s resolve to work closely with China, he welcomed the shared focus on trade, investment, connectivity, infrastructure development, IT and agricultural modernisation.

Liu conveyed greetings from the Chinese leadership and reaffirmed China’s commitment to deepening its long-standing friendship with Pakistan. He welcomed the continuing momentum in high-level and party-to-party exchanges, which he said further strengthen the iron-clad friendship between the two countries.

The two sides exchanged views on regional and international developments and agreed to maintain close coordination and cooperation at bilateral and multilateral forums.
