Gabon President and Austria Chancellor Head to Shanghai Expo

Shanghai (GNP): A group of international leaders will travel to Shanghai for the 9th China International Import Expo (CIIE), which runs from November 5 to 10. A Chinese Foreign Ministry spokesperson announced the guest list on Tuesday

Two heads of state and government lead the group. They are Gabonese President Brice Clotaire Oligui Nguema and Austrian Chancellor Christian Stocker. Liberian Vice President Jeremiah Kpan Koung is also on the list.

The guests include senior economic officials too. Oscar Pérez-Oliva is Cuba’s Deputy Prime Minister and Minister of Foreign Trade and Investment, and Denisa Saková is Slovakia’s Deputy Prime Minister and Minister of Economy. Mariam Kvrivishvili is Georgia’s Deputy Prime Minister and Minister of Economy and Sustainable Development.

At the invitation of President Xi Jinping, President of the Gabonese Republic Brice Clotaire Oligui Nguema will pay a state visit to China from November 3 to 7.

All of them are coming at the invitation of the Chinese government. They will attend the opening ceremony and a series of related events, the spokesperson said.

The expo will take place at the National Exhibition and Convention Center in Shanghai. With leaders from Africa, Europe and the Americas confirmed, the opening ceremony is set to bring together officials from several regions on the first day.
