PM Commitment to Strengthening Ties with Azerbaijan

Islamabad (GNP): Prime Minister Shehbaz Sharif reaffirmed Pakistan’s commitment to deepening its relationship with Azerbaijan, reflecting on the high-level engagement between the two countries over the past two and a half years during a farewell meeting with Azerbaijan’s outgoing Ambassador to Pakistan, Khazar Farhadov.

Sharif expressed confidence that the strong foundation built during Farhadov’s tenure would continue to guide bilateral relations going forward, acknowledging the ambassador’s efforts in strengthening ties between the two countries across political, trade, economic, defense, and cultural domains — including the launch of direct flights between Pakistan and Azerbaijan.

Conveying his regards to Azerbaijani President Ilham Aliyev, Sharif recalled his own multiple visits to Azerbaijan over the past two and a half years, as well as Aliyev’s visit to Pakistan in July 2024, and wished Farhadov continued success in his future diplomatic assignments.
