PCB changes date for PSL-8 final match

Final to be played on Saturday, with Sunday and Monday to be treated as reserved days.

Lahore, 16 March 2023 (GNP): The Pakistan Cricket Board (PCB) has chosen to hold the HBL PSL 8 final on Saturday, March 18, at the Gaddafi Stadium, with Sunday and Monday to be treated as reserve days after taking into account the poor weather expected for the next few days. The final was originally slated to take place in Lahore on March 19th.

The HBL PSL 8 is our signature event, according to PCB Management Committee Chairman Najam Sethi. While fervent cricket fans wait impatiently to see their favorite team declared the winner, all the teams strive and train all year to not only qualify for the final but also win the Supernove Trophy.

“As a result, and based on the knowledge regarding the terrible weather forecast that is currently available, it is a sensible and proactive approach that we use the off-day, play the final on Saturday, and use Sunday and Monday as reserve days. As opposed to the customary one day, this will give us two backup days in case the match cannot be finished or played on Saturday”. Chairman continued.

“We have communicated with the Play-off teams, and they have not only agreed with our decision but also backed and supported it”.

Cricket fans won’t experience any disruption because tickets purchased for Sunday’s game will still be valid for Saturday’s rescheduled final, he further added.
