New York (GNP): The Pakistan Mission to the United Nations hosted a farewell ceremony to bid farewell to Minister Asif Khan, who is returning to Islamabad after completing his tenure at the Mission.
Addressing the ceremony, Ambassador Asim Iftikhar Ahmad, Permanent Representative of Pakistan to the United Nations, appreciated Minister Asif Khan for his valuable services and contributions during his assignment in New York.
He described him as a grounded, dedicated and capable professional who carried out his responsibilities with competence, integrity and commitment.
Ambassador Asim Iftikhar Ahmad said that Minister Asif Khan had been an important member of the Pakistan Mission’s team and had made meaningful contributions to its work and engagement with various organs of the United Nations.
He particularly appreciated his professionalism, sound judgment and constructive approach in carrying out his diplomatic responsibilities.
The Permanent Representative commended Minister Asif Khan’s role in strengthening the Mission’s day-to-day diplomatic work and contributing to Pakistan’s engagement at the United Nations.
He noted that his dedication and collaborative approach had made him a valued member of the Mission and contributed positively to its collective efforts.
Ambassador Asim Iftikhar Ahmad expressed his best wishes to Minister Asif Khan as he returns to Islamabad to take up his future responsibilities.

He conveyed confidence that his experience gained through his assignment at the United Nations would continue to serve him well in his future diplomatic career.
In his remarks, Minister Asif Khan expressed his gratitude to Ambassador Asim Iftikhar Ahmad and the officers and staff of the Pakistan Mission for their support, cooperation and collegiality throughout his tenure.
Reflecting on his time in New York, Minister Asif Khan described the opportunity to represent Pakistan at the United Nations as the greatest honour of his professional life.
He expressed appreciation for the experience of working in a multilateral diplomatic environment and for the opportunity to contribute to Pakistan’s engagement with the United Nations.
Minister Asif Khan also expressed particular gratitude to Ambassador Asim Iftikhar Ahmad for his guidance and mentorship during his assignment.

He said that the Ambassador’s support and advice had been invaluable throughout his tenure and had contributed significantly to his professional experience in New York.
Recalling his time at the Mission, Minister Asif Khan said he was leaving New York with fond memories and a deep sense of gratitude for his colleagues.
He appreciated the cooperation and camaraderie extended to him by officers and staff members during his assignment.
The farewell ceremony was attended by Deputy Permanent Representative Ambassador Usman Jadoon, Consul General Aamer Ahmad Atozai, and officers and staff members of the Pakistan Mission to the United Nations.
The participants conveyed their warmest wishes to Minister Asif Khan for his future responsibilities in Islamabad and expressed hope for his continued success in his diplomatic career.
The ceremony concluded on a warm and cordial note, marking the completion of Minister Asif Khan’s assignment at the Pakistan Mission to the United Nations and acknowledging his contributions to Pakistan’s diplomatic engagement during his tenure.
