Beijing, GNP: The Embassy of Pakistan in Beijing has organized two investment promotion events to mobilize Chinese investors for the upcoming Pakistan–China B2B Investment Conference on Pharmaceuticals, Biotechnology, and Healthcare scheduled to be held in Karachi on July 17–18, 2026.
The events were jointly hosted with the China Overseas Development Association (CODA) and IBI Goulian Gufen, attracting nearly 60 leading Chinese enterprises from pharmaceutical, biotechnology, vaccines, medical devices, diagnostics, healthcare services, digital health, and clinical research sectors.
Addressing the participants, Ambassador of Pakistan to China H.E. Khalil Hashmi highlighted the growing momentum in Pakistan–China economic cooperation, emphasizing that China-Pakistan Economic Corridor (CPEC 2.0) is increasingly focusing on industrial cooperation, technology transfer, innovation, and value-added manufacturing.
The Ambassador said that pharmaceuticals, healthcare, and biotechnology are among the priority sectors for future collaboration between the two countries.
He noted that the Karachi B2B conference is part of Pakistan’s broader investment mobilization initiative launched by the Embassy to connect Chinese and Pakistani businesses across key sectors. Previous engagements have resulted in business partnerships, investment commitments, and joint ventures.
Highlighting Pakistan’s investment potential, Ambassador Hashmi stated that Pakistan’s pharmaceutical market is valued at over US$4 billion and growing annually. He said the country offers opportunities due to its large domestic market, strategic location, competitive production costs, and investor-friendly policies under the Special Investment Facilitation Council (SIFC).

He invited Chinese companies to explore opportunities in areas including generic APIs, injectables, human vaccines, insulin, veterinary vaccines, biologics, biosimilars, and medical devices.
During the events, participants were also briefed about the conference programme, B2B matchmaking sessions, and planned business visits. Several Chinese companies expressed interest in establishing partnerships with Pakistani counterparts.
The Pakistan–China B2B Pharmaceutical, Healthcare & Biotechnology Investment Conference is being organized by Pakistan’s Ministry of National Health Services, Regulations and Coordination, in collaboration with the Embassy of Pakistan in Beijing and Pakistan’s Consulates General across China.
The conference is expected to bring together investors, regulators, and industry leaders from both countries to expand cooperation in healthcare, biotechnology, pharmaceuticals, medical devices, and related sectors.
