NA Speaker Mourns Lives Lost in Zhob Bus Tragedy

Islamabad (GNP):- National Assembly Speaker Sardar Ayaz Sadiq voiced deep sorrow over the deaths caused by a passenger bus crash in the Dana Sar area of Zhob District.

Sadiq offered his condolences to the families of those killed, saying he stood alongside them during this painful time and that the tragedy had left the whole nation grieving.

He prayed that the victims be granted a high place in paradise and that their families be given the strength to endure such a devastating loss. He also asked for the injured to recover quickly and instructed relevant officials to make sure they receive the highest standard of medical care available.

“The entire nation shares the grief of the affected families in this tragic hour,” the speaker said.

According to local officials, the bus went off the road in the rugged Dana Sar terrain, making it one of the deadliest road accidents the area has seen in years. Shahid Rind, spokesperson for Balochistan’s chief minister, said the confirmed death toll had climbed to 40, with eight injured passengers taken to hospital for treatment. He added that district authorities, along with rescue and emergency departments, were still carrying out relief efforts and treating the wounded.

Rind noted that early reports suggest the bus was overloaded because it had also picked up passengers from another bus that broke down earlier along the same route. Deputy Commissioner Sherani Wali Kakar said rescue crews encountered significant obstacles reaching the crash site due to the difficult mountainous terrain but continued working on evacuation and recovery.

Hospitals in the surrounding area of Balochistan were placed on emergency alert to ensure the injured could be treated without delay.

President Asif Ali Zardari also expressed sorrow over the crash on the Zhob-Sherani Highway and instructed authorities to guarantee the injured receive proper medical attention.

Prime Minister Shehbaz Sharif likewise conveyed his grief over the lives lost in the accident, offering condolences to the bereaved families and praying for the deceased. He too directed that the injured be given the best possible medical treatment.
