Islamabad (GNP): The Ministry of Federal Education and Professional Training (MoFEPT) hosted a signing ceremony for two Letters of Understanding between Nestlé Pakistan and two government bodies — the Federal Directorate of Education (FDE) and the Directorate General of Special Education (DGSE) — aimed at promoting nutrition education and healthier habits among children.
The event was attended by MoFEPT Secretary Nadeem Mahbub, senior ministry officials, Nestlé Pakistan’s Head of Corporate Affairs and Sustainability Sheikh Waqar Ahmad, Corporate Affairs Manager Zaira Ahmed, and other members of the Nestlé team.
Details of the Partnerships
Under Nestlé’s “Healthier Kids” initiative, the agreements will focus on raising awareness around nutrition, healthy eating, hydration, hygiene, physical activity, and responsible waste management.
The partnership with FDE will train up to 300 teachers, with the program expected to reach approximately 10,000 students across federal government schools. Meanwhile, the collaboration with DGSE will provide training to up to 200 faculty members, therapists, and other professionals, benefiting around 2,000 children with special needs. This partnership will also include developing inclusive learning materials and setting up dedicated resource rooms.
Officials’ Remarks
Secretary Mahbub welcomed the collaboration, highlighting the value of public-private partnerships in supporting children’s health, well-being, and educational outcomes.
Sheikh Waqar Ahmad of Nestlé Pakistan said the partnerships reflect a shared commitment to improving children’s health through education, noting that working alongside public institutions allows the company to support teachers, encourage healthier habits, and create lasting benefits for future generations.

Established in 2011, the Ministry of Federal Education and Professional Training works to expand access to quality education across Pakistan, overseeing school, college, and professional training initiatives while coordinating education policy among provinces.
