Israel, 24 February (GNP): Israel Defense Forces (IDF) claimed on Thursday that, airstrikes were conducted against accused weapons production and storage premises in Gaza as reprisal for the coastal enclave’s rocket attack.
Five rockets fired from Gaza at Israeli territory, including the cities of Ashkelon and Sderot, were reportedly intercepted earlier on Thursday, according to the IDF.
In retaliation, fighter jets attacked a Hamas-owned weapons production plant in the heart of Gaza, according to IDF.
The IDF continued its statement, “In parallel, a military compound belonging to the Hamas Terrorist Organization in the northern Gaza Strip which also was used as a naval weapons storage warehouse was struck”.
Attack in Nablus, Palestine: At least 500 individuals sustained injuries on Wednesday during an Israeli military raid in Nablus, West Bank, which left 11 Palestinians dead and triggered the rocket strike from the coastal enclave.
According to the Palestinian Red Crescent, 488 injuries—including 103 from live bullets—were treated by their teams during the occupying troops’ invasion in Nablus.
Inhalation of tear gas and shrapnel wounds were among the other injuries, they claimed.
The IDF said that it obtained information on the whereabouts of the suspects, which allowed it to conduct the four-hour-long operation in Nablus during the day.

IDF blamed them for the murder of one Israeli soldier and declared them to be a direct threat.
Prime Minister Benjamin Netanyahu declared that Israel will “settle accounts with those who assault Israeli citizens and IDF troops” while hailing the Israeli military’s operation into Nablus the day before.
According to Netanyahu, “three terrorists” who assassinated Staff Sergeant Ido Baruch last October and were intending to carry out other acts against us” were the focus of the raid.
Netanyahu remarked, “I would like to commend the ISA and IDF Intelligence for the precise intelligence,” referring to the Shin Bet, the Israeli Security Agency (ISA), and the Israel Defense Forces.
Also, he commended, “the soldiers who acted with heroism and confidence under fire”.
