Islamabad (GNP): Islamabad MoU 2026 US Iran agreement has been signed, marking a historic diplomatic breakthrough between the United States of America and the Islamic Republic of Iran. Prime Minister Muhammad Shehbaz Sharif announced that the historic Islamabad Memorandum of Understanding was electronically signed today between the two countries, with the agreement signed by the Presidents of both nations and also endorsed by the Prime Minister himself as the mediator of the process.
The Prime Minister said the signing of this agreement at the highest level of both governments demonstrates the strong commitment of both sides to a diplomatic resolution of the conflict that has caused significant regional tension. He confirmed that the Islamabad MoU 2026 US Iran agreement would enter into force with immediate effect. As a first step under the agreement, the Islamic Republic of Iran will instantly reopen the Strait of Hormuz, while the United States of America will immediately lift the naval blockade that had been in place.
