Jeddah, 18 Aug, 2023 (GNP): In a significant development, Iran’s Foreign Minister, Hossein Amir-Abdollahian, embarked on a historic visit to Saudi Arabia, marking a pivotal moment in the two nations’ relationship. The visit comes after the recent announcement of a surprise rapprochement between the Middle East rivals, officials said.
During his visit, Amir-Abdollahian engaged in crucial talks with Crown Prince Mohammed bin Salman (MBS), the de facto ruler of Saudi Arabia, announced by the Saudi Ministry of Foreign Affairs.

As per sources, the meeting took place in Jeddah on Friday and focused on discussions that aimed to strengthen bilateral relations and explore opportunities for cooperation in regional and international matters. Since the restoration of diplomatic relations earlier this year, mediated by China, Iran, and Saudi Arabia have taken significant steps towards ending their historical rivalry and working together towards regional stability.
