Bahrain and US reinforce cooperation amid Gaza conflict

Manama, 24 March 2024 (GNP): Salman bin Hamad, the crown prince of Bahrain, and US Secretary of State Antony Blinken spoke on Monday about the most recent events in Gaza as well as other topics of mutual interest on the regional and global stages.

The Bahraini Prince discussed US-Bahrain relations over the phone, emphasizing the value of improving cooperation in order to accomplish shared objectives and interests.

The crown prince reaffirmed Bahrain’s strong stance toward the Palestinian cause and its unwavering commitment to achieving a lasting peace and just solution during their discussion of the current state of affairs in the Middle East and the Gaza conflict.

Bahrain supports the Palestinians’ right to establish an independent state with East Jerusalem as its capital.

He also emphasized how critical it is to save civilians and put an end to the violence in Gaza, which he claimed was endangering security and stability in the area.

Both officials reaffirmed their commitment to halting the development of regional strife, according to the US State Department. It also stated that Blinken expressed gratitude to Bahrain for its support of maritime security.

Both the officials also talked about how the bilateral relationship is strengthened by cooperation under the Comprehensive Security Integration and Prosperity Agreement, according to United States Department of State spokesperson Matthew Miller.
