Dushanbe, 30 Aug, 2023(GNP): The inauguration of the Palestinian Embassy in Dushanbe took place on Tuesday. The embassy’s opening coincided with Riyad Al-Maliki’s official visit to Tajikistan from August 28 to 30, 2023. During his trip, he also met with Tajikistan’s Prime Minister, Qohir Rasulzoda, discussing various areas of bilateral cooperation.
The President of Tajikistan, extended congratulations to Palestine’s Foreign Minister, Riyad al-Maliki, for the embassy’s inauguration. Emomali Rahmon, the President of Tajikistan, expressed his hope that this initiative would greatly enhance bilateral relations between the two nations. He also expressed his belief that it would contribute to regional peace and stability.
Palestine’s Foreign Minister expressed gratitude to the Tajikistan President for his support and friendship. Additionally, he commended the President’s efforts in advocating for the Palestinian cause. He also thanked the Tajik government and people for hosting the Palestinian embassy and offering essential facilities.
During the event, the foreign ministers of both nations also discussed various aspects of cooperation, especially in the fields of trade, economy, culture, education, tourism, and health. They also decided to improve and extend their cooperation and communication on matters of shared regional and global importance.

The parties also shared their perspectives on significant matters within the international and regional agenda.
At the conclusion of the discussions, a Protocol on cooperation was signed between Tajikistan’s Ministry of Foreign Affairs and Palestine’s Ministry of Foreign Affairs.
Furthermore, the governments of Tajikistan and Palestine signed agreements for cooperation in higher education, scientific research, and agriculture.

The opening of the Palestinian embassy in Dushanbe is a significant event that shows the close connection and friendship between Tajikistan and Palestine.
