Islamabad, 26 September, 2023(GNP): Caretaker Religious Affairs Minister Aneeq Ahmed has announced that the Hajj policy for 2024 has been prepared and will soon be submitted to cabinet for approval. The policy introduces several innovations aimed at enhancing the experience of Pakistani pilgrims.
Under the new policy, a short period of Hajj, including a 40-day option, will be available to pilgrims. To facilitate easy identification of their belongings, pilgrims will be provided with two suitcases of a specific color and design, each affixed with QR codes containing essential information such as the pilgrim’s name, passport number, residence, school number, and more.

One of the significant advancements in the policy is the provision of a special mobile package for Hajj pilgrims, allowing them to stay in touch with their families in Pakistan.
An agreement has been reached with a Saudi mobile phone company, enabling pilgrims to make audio and video calls on their mobile phones. This mobile package is available for Rs4,000, offering unlimited communication.
This initiative reflects the commitment to improve the experience and well-being of Pakistani pilgrims during their sacred journey to Mecca. The duration of Hajj will be flexible, lasting from 18 to 30 days, allowing pilgrims to choose according to their preferences.
Additionally, the Saudi government has offered official residences to Pakistani pilgrims, further enhancing their comfort during Hajj.
These innovations in the Hajj policy aims to streamline the process and provide a more connected and convenient experience to Pakistani pilgrims, ensuring that they have access to the necessary facilities and communication tools while performing their religious duties.
