Fans celebrated 10-year anniversary of K-Pop megastars BTS

Seoul, 13 June, 2023 (GNP): On Monday, K-Pop megastars BTS’ fans gathered in the heart of Seoul, the capital of South Korea, to celebrate the 10th anniversary of the boy band’s debut.

Many of the group’s dedicated global fans, known as the “ARMY,” gathered outside the office of its agency HYBE in Seoul this week, even though the group is on break and two of the members are now performing mandatory military service.

The seven-member group made its debut on 13 June, 2013 and went on to become the first all-South Korean K-pop stars to dominate the US and UK charts, earning billions of dollars and gaining a large international fandom in the process.

A lot of BTS fans traveled from France, Mexico, and other countries to take in the sights as landmarks like Seoul City Hall and Namsan Tower lit up in the group’s signature shade of purple.

Moreover, the postal service of South Korea provided unique commemorative stamps to mark the anniversary of BTS’ debut.

Last week, the group released a brand-new digital song to mark the special day.  The track “Take Two” is reportedly a nod to the band’s second chapter after 10 years as musicians.

The celebrations are anticipated to peak on Saturday as BTS leader RM is supposed to meet fans, followed by fireworks near the Han River, which divides Seoul in half.

“Thank you for teaching us a little, or maybe even too much, about happiness and love,” BTS member JungKook told ARMY on Twitter.

He further expressed, “I want to keep walking with you all for the next 10 years as well.”
