China Window Symbolizes Deepening Pak-China Ties

Peshawar (GNP): Muhammad Tariq Wazir, Director General (China) at Pakistan’s Ministry of Foreign Affairs, paid an official visit to China Window, a premier Chinese cultural and information center located in Peshawar, where he acknowledged the institution’s meaningful contributions to fostering people-to-people ties and strengthening bilateral relations between Pakistan and China.

During the visit, Muhammad Tariq Wazir toured the center’s exhibition galleries, which cover a broad spectrum of subjects including Chinese history, culture, science and technology, tourism, education, and the longstanding ties between the two nations. He expressed genuine interest in the exhibits and appreciated the thoughtful efforts made to bring China’s civilization and contemporary progress closer to the people of Khyber Pakhtunkhwa.

The Director General signed the Friendship Wall and entered his remarks in the Visitors’ Book, applauding the vision and commitment that underpins the center’s founding.

Addressing those present, he said he was delighted to visit the institution, noting that he had long heard of its work before seeing it firsthand. He commended all those involved in building and sustaining the initiative, describing what had been accomplished as genuinely impressive. He expressed confidence that China Window’s significance would only grow in the years ahead.

He further observed that a platform of this nature was a long-felt need in Peshawar, and that its presence had addressed a meaningful gap in cultural diplomacy and cross-cultural understanding between the two countries. He called for the center’s activities to be broadened so that greater numbers of people could benefit from learning about China and the ties that bind the two nations.

Muhammad Tariq Wazir underscored that cultural engagement and direct people-to-people interaction remain fundamental to the Pakistan-China relationship. He conveyed the Ministry of Foreign Affairs’ readiness to support collaborative efforts that bring the citizens of both countries into closer contact.

The visit concluded with an interactive session in which the Director General recognized the contributions of China Window’s administration, staff, and volunteers toward advancing cultural understanding and friendship between Pakistan and China.

China Window, established in Peshawar as a distinctive cultural and information hub, has grown into an active venue for cultural exchange, educational programming, seminars, exhibitions, language promotion, and public diplomacy. It regularly brings together diplomats, scholars, students, journalists, and civil society members, contributing to a deeper and more connected Pakistan-China relationship.
