Beijing, 22 October 2021 (GNP/ TDI): China-Pakistan Joint Research Center on Earth Sciences (CPJRC) hosted the satellite receiving station and remote sensing application training course in Beijing.
It offered a free training course to the young scientists and students in Pakistan on Satellite Receiving Station and Remote Sensing Application to help them enhance Pakistan’s scientific data service capabilities.
Remote sensing technologies are important in many areas, including scientific research and the prevention and mitigation of natural disasters.
Therefore, China-Pakistan Joint Research Center on Earth Sciences (CPJRC) hosted the satellite receiving station and remote sensing application training course in Beijing.
The Institute of Mountain Hazards and Environments (IMDE) of CAS, International Center on Space Technologies for Natural and Cultural Heritage (HIST) under the UNESCO and Aerospace Information Research Institutes (AIRCAS) of CAS jointly hosted it.
Leading Chinese scholars will teach the course either in person in Beijing or online from Pakistan.
In today’s speech, Professor Cui Peng, Academician of CAS and Director at CPJRC, stated that China has established several satellite reception stations which can get satellite data covering Pakistan and Central Asia.
He expressed his sincere hope that students will also learn from other participants as this is an international program because we have 44 participants on the internet, 23 from Pakistan and 22 from Egypt, Cameroon, India, Nigeria, Myanmar, Nigeria, Morocco, and Ethiopia.
All participants at the course will get a certificate from the China-Pakistan Joint Research Center Earth Science and they will grant on-site students free all courses, registrations and accommodation, and food.
This training, introduced by CPJRC, will allow Pakistani Scholars to learn about satellite receiver stations, their data sharing and related services, as well as how remote sensing technology can access water resources, locust prevention, natural hazards mitigation, reduction, and conservation.
