50th Intl Seerat-un-Nabi Conference to be Celebration’s Centerpiece

Islamabad – The Federal Minister for Religious Affairs and Interfaith Harmony announced that the year 1447 Hijri will be observed as the 1500th blessed year of the birth of Prophet Muhammad ﷺ. Addressing a press briefing, the minister said the occasion will be commemorated nationwide with special programs under the title “Ashra Rehmat-ul-Lil-Alameen ﷺ” from 1st to 12th Rabi-ul-Awwal 1447 Hijri (2025).

The highlight of the celebrations will be the 50th International Seerat-un-Nabi ﷺ Conference in Islamabad, attended by government officials, religious scholars, diplomats, and distinguished guests from Pakistan and abroad. This year’s theme is: “State Responsibilities in Educating and Training for the Positive Use of Social Media – In the Light of the Teachings of the Holy Prophet ﷺ.”

The minister said a series of events will be held nationwide, including Seerat conferences, Naat gatherings, seminars, student competitions, and special programs in schools, colleges, and universities. A national Quran and Seerat exhibition and a grand Naat gathering on 11th Rabi-ul-Awwal night are also planned.

He added that the ministry has shared a comprehensive program with all provincial governments, Azad Jammu and Kashmir, and Gilgit-Baltistan, who have nominated focal persons to coordinate the activities. Reports, photos, and videos from across the country will be compiled into a national report.

The minister appealed to the nation to actively participate in the celebrations, promote peace, unity, and tolerance, and extend support to underprivileged communities, particularly those affected by recent floods.
